Hissing
Hissing often touches scorn and the sharp sting of disapproval — being hissed at among new acquaintances, or making a shameful sound yourself. The dream may ask where you feel jeered or unwelcome among unfamiliar company, what discourtesy is testing your patience past endurance, and whether shame over some act is whispering at the edges.

These are the entries the historical dream-books record for hissing, in their own words. They are period voices, not predictions, and they do not always agree with one another.
Gustavus Hindman Miller, 1901
To dream of hissing persons, is an omen that you will be displeased beyond endurance at the discourteous treatment shown you while among newly made acquaintances. If they hiss you, you will be threatened with the loss of a friend.
Fontaine, 1862
To dream of hearing hissing noises, such as steam makes, or of geese hissing, is a sign of shame. If a girl dreams this, it foretells that she will do something she is ashamed of: to a man it is a sign he will do an undignified act, or one that will injure his prospects.
