To receive a gift in a dream was a fortunate sign—debts kept, luck in love and ventures; yet to give one, oddly, foretold displeasure and effort gone awry. The direction of generosity mattered. To send a gift, signifies displeasure will be shown you, and ill luck will surround your efforts.
For a young woman to dream that her lover sends her rich and beautiful gifts, denotes that she will make a wealthy and congenial marriage.

(See Present.) To dream that a friend presents you with a valuable gift, predicts that you will lose something. If a girl dreams that her lover gives her a present, it is a sign that she will allow him the husband's privilege before marriage.

Gifts.—To dream you have anything given you is a sign that some good is about to happen to you; it also denotes that a speedy marriage will take place betwixt you and your sweetheart. To dream you have given anything away is the forerunner of adversity; and in love denotes sickness and inconstancy in your sweetheart or partner.
